How we show up at work is impacted on by many things. Like how well we fit the corporate identity required of us. This can have consequences for how well we perform – at work and not at work.
Where do you take the sub-conscious, the unconscious impact of the constraints of your professional identity? Are you lucky enough to work within a culture of positive feedback, where people know about their responsibility to support you moving forward?
If not, you may be sitting with your experience, as if you had your nose pressed up against a wall. It’s hard to see what’s going on.
Take a minute to note how satisfied you are with some important aspects of your corporate identity. On a scale of 1 to 10 score the following 6 points of your star identity. A score of 10 represents ultimate satisfaction and a score of zero represents that you could not be less satisfied with this aspect.
The areas I suggest are; The hours you work, recognition for your contribution, your ability to express yourself creatively, work-life balance, salary and how free you are to control your activity – autonomy.
So, score yourself.

If your numbers surprise you, illuminate some things that you would like to be different, then move forward – find a way to change them towards a more satisfying star – you deserve to sparkle.
